Looking for a chic wellness resort that values high-quality nutrition and offers a good range of sports, we came across the Sportresort Hohe Salve [ad] in Hopfgarten im Brixenthal, Tyrol /Austria . The resort was even able to top the level we expected. We loved it. We experienced one of the coolest weekends there in a long time.
* Update: We just came back from our second stay at Sportresort Hohe Salve. This time we enjoyed the comforts of the hotel in winter times. So skiing was the focus of our stay.
Our top priority is always food, because good food means good mood and good mood means vacay mood. And the resort made us being in vacay mood this weekend.
The breakfast consists of a rich buffet, which comes with regional and often homemade delicacies. A great selection of breads and pastries, sugar-free jams from a small Austrian manufactory, as well as an awesome selection of sausage and cheese. Good coffee, delicious juices and freshly prepared egg dishes, pancakes and waffles make it a perfect start in the day.
Friday evening we had an amazing menu. It was six courses menu, two courses we could be put together on the buffet by ourselves and four courses were served on the table.
Also the buffet on Saturday night was great. Meat, fish and vegetables in excellent quality and with perfect cooking levels (which is not very easy when preparing a buffet) convinced us all the way. The sommelier is also on hand to help and guide you through the yet quite Austrian-weighted wine list.
Move & Relax, that is the concept of Sportresort Hohe Salve and the options to be physically active are almost unlimited.
Gym with focus on strength and cardio, various classes such as yoga or TRX, a swimming pool, bike tours and much more keep the guests moving. Competent employees, who are on hand with advice and action, are always on site.
We worked out several times in the gym and did some swimming. Despite bad weather we even dared to take a little hike out.
Hiking in the Hohe Salve region is of course a delight. The view of the amazing nature is really very cool. A lovely region.
The sports and wellness offer is really great: 400 square meters of fitness area, 630 square meters of pool area, 310 square meters of water surface, 380 square meters of regeneration area, 25 meters of sports pool, two saunas, two infrared cabins, a steam bath.
*Update:
The resorts sets free the whole bunch of its advantages when it is cold outside, the mountains are snowy white and the pleasure of skiing the Austrian Alps has no limits.
The whole ski area of Wilder Kaiser stands open to the guests of the Sportresort Hohe Salve. Move & Relax – the claim of the resort – is the guideline of the stay again.
After a day of skiing on perfectly prepared slopes with state-of-the-art & fast lifts, the hotel's wellness temple awaits the guests in the afternoon.
What is more relaxation than a dip in the hot outdoor pool followed by a sauna session after an eventful day on the slopes of the Wilder Kaiser region?
We would describe the design as simple but luxurious. Simply inviting and comfortable. The bar is designed in lounge style and entices after an active day with a great selection of drinks. On fair weather days, the spacious sun terrace is open to all guests.
The restaurant has a pleasant atmosphere, as the acoustics are very comfortable. Usually there is a high noise level in the dining rooms of hotels. This problem is well solved in Sportresort Hohe Salve by visually appealing design elements and wall panels that swallow the noise.
You can book the four room categories Classic, Classic Plus, Superior and Premium. All offers include energy half board. At least that's the case at the time of our visit.
The rooms are very spacious and have a balcony with a view of the village and the surrounding mountains. The bathroom is very classy in design. The suites even have their own infrared cabins in the bathroom. Overall, the design is very nice in all areas and enhanced by small eyecatchers. Exactly our taste.
Sportresort Hohe Salve is located on the outskirts of Hopfgarten in Brixental, right at the foot of Hohe Salve. The cable car is across the street and is reachable within a minute's walking distance. Perfect for skiers, hikers and other mountain enthusiasts.
The hotel is located between Wörgl and Kitzbühel and is perfectly accessible via the Inntal Highway.
*Update:
In winter times, the hotel plays at its best.
The ski lifts to Hohe Salve summit can be accessed after only 100 meters and less than a minute walk.
Awesome, when all other people are looking for parking spaces or hauling their skis to the lift, the guests of Sportresort Hohe Salve simply get their ski equipment from the spacious and well thought-out skidepot and just bring it across the road to the ski lift.
Due to the proximity to the lift, skiing on almost empty slopes early in the morning or a little longer in the evening is possible for the guests without any stress.
We loved our stay at Sportresort Hohe Salve and definitely recommend the hotel to you.
*Update:
Even in winter, the Sportresort Hohe Salve impresses with its soft Alpine luxury, balanced cuisine and, above all, the great spa and the ingenious location right on the slopes.
We had a wonderful weekend at Sportresort Hohe Salve.
