Do you want to soak up the splendor of an ancient city on a small island in the Mediterranean and feel the charm of a time-honored aristocratic mansion with a courtyard in the middle of the charming old town of Valletta? Then you are absolutely right here. The 66 Saint Paul´s [ad] in Valletta, Malta has completely convinced us. When we arrived at this breathtaking boutique hotel in Valletta, we were greeted with a glass of Italian and delicious prosecco.
The boutique hotel in Valletta is located on Saint Paul´s Street, in the middle of the old town of Valletta. You are in the city center in just a few steps. Here you will find delicious restaurants and cozy cafés. All sights of the city are within walking distance. Although the boutique hotel is so central, it is still very quiet. We were in town for the 2018 World Cup. At every corner, the bar owners set up small seating areas for public viewing. The atmosphere was just great.
The airport is less than ten kilometers away and easily accessible. Traffic in Valletta is manageable, but parking spaces are few and far between and reserved for residents and suppliers if available. We parked our car in the MCP Car Park Floriana and paid € 10 per 24 hours. From there it is about a 15-minute walk through the pedestrian zone to 66 Saint Paul´s. The location of the small boutique hotel is really ideal for visiting Valletta.
As soon as you enter the old aristocratic building, you step through a large, massive door that may have blocked access to uninvited guests. Once in the hotel, you cannot get out of amazement. The mighty inner courtyard, open at the top, forms the center of the complex. With only a few rooms, the hotel impresses with privacy and tranquility. Despite the closed courtyard location, the hotel is flooded with light and the light natural stone walls add to the good mood of the boutique hotel in Valletta.
There are five or six floors in 66 Saint Paul´s - I'm not sure of that anymore. Of course you can always take the stairs, but after a day of sightseeing, you won't say "no" to the elevator either. Even at night, when the reception is closed, there is a contact person in the form of the night watchman in the hotel.
The 66 Saint Paul´s offers a few rooms with a view of the city. We had a room with a balcony facing the courtyard. The balcony is large enough to cuddle up in the comfortable armchairs, relax your feet from sightseeing and enjoy a delicious coffee.
On the breathtaking rooftop of 66 Saint Paul´s, a bar and pool invite you to relax. From here you have the entire old town and the huge natural harbor of Valletta in view. The terrace is equipped with comfortable loungers. The pool is very pleasantly tempered and there is very soothing calm up there. If you want, you can let the waiter spoil you with a freshly tapped beer or a glass of wine. Just the thing after an eventful day in the Mediterranean summer heat.
If you live centrally in Valletta, as you do in 66 Saint Paul´s, just let yourself go and try to soak up the city. The Boutique Hotel 66 Saint Paul´s has the perfect location for this. There are so many beautiful corners with an incredibly interesting history, enjoy an Aperol Spritz in the Café Cordina and watch the hustle and bustle. Visit small boutiques, sit in cafes and eat in the great restaurants - maybe not directly on the boulevard, but in the small charming side streets, where it is cheaper and more authentic. Get a rough overview of what you would like to see in Valletta and start. The city center is small enough that you will pass most sights by chance if you just let yourself go.
After shopping, feasting and sightseeing, you can simply relax by the pool of your boutique hotel and review the impressions of the day.

At 66 Saint Paul´s you book bed and breakfast. The kitchen stays cold at noon or in the evening. For us it was the perfect combination - great breakfast in the hotel and then in the evening in one of the many small Mediterranean restaurants to try the delicacies of the island.
Excellent coffee, great quality at breakfast and very friendly and professional staff let you start your day at 66 Saint Paul's. If you want, you can also start the sightseeing day with a glass of Prosecco, we can only recommend that ;-).
The quality of the food at breakfast is just great. If you cannot decide, you should simply try everything. There is fresh fruit, various types of bread, sausage and cheese, as well as many different and delicious pastries. There is its own small breakfast area, in which the selection is organized in buffet form. The breakfast tables for the guests are right next to it. If you want, you can also have breakfast in the courtyard. Coffee is brought to the table by the waiters. International newspapers are also there. Here are no wishes left.
The 66 Saint Paul´s is a boutique hotel in Valletta that we really liked. We couldn't have imagined a better option to explore the endearing city that has been influenced by so many cultures.
