As a starting point for our time in Bali, we were looking for a hotel that is close to the airport. Nevertheless, it should offer peace and privacy and of course it should preferably be a boutique hotel with an attractive design. All of our requirements were served very well at the Amnaya Kuta Resort [ad].
The hotel is located on a side street of hectic Kuta in the south of Bali, around 4 km from Ngurah Rai International Airport.
The hotel offers a hotel shuttle, which we gladly used. The Amnaya was our first destination in Bali and so we first had to get Indonesian rupees. The very friendly driver let us get off at an ATM on the way to the hotel. It was also time for a SIM card. Basically, we like to ask hotel drivers about such topics. So far, this has worked well.
At the Amnaya Kuta Resort you don't notice the noise and traffic of the main street in Kuta. It is truly an oasis of calm in hectic Kuta. The Amnaya Kuta Resort is really an excellent choice to arrive in Bali.
In the immediate vicinity of the pretty boutique hotel there is a shopping mall as well as many small stalls and shops that offer everything from food and drink to toys, clothes and electronic goods.
If you want to visit the surrounding islands such as Lombok, the Gilis or the Nusas, the ports in the south are still relevant for you. They are only about 12 kilometers away. However, due to the often chaotic traffic situation, plan to travel 60 to 90 minutes.
At the Amnaya Kuta Resort you won't get bored.
After a long flight and the hustle and bustle at the airport, we simply recommend you to enjoy the calm and the pleasant warmth at the tropical pool in the courtyard of the boutique hotel. The pool is big enough to take a few laps in the morning. Sufficiently comfortable loungers and a good beverage service let you immediately arrive in tropical paradise.
The hotel's own SPA called BHAVA also provides endless relaxation. Pamper yourself with traditional treatments from Indonesia, China, Japan, Thailand or India and purify your mind and soul. Different rituals and packages let you float.
Of course you can also rent a bike or a scooter at Amnaya Kuta Resort and go on small trips. Uluwatu is about 50 minutes away by scooter.
You can get to Kuta beach in about 15 minutes on foot.
The Discovery Shopping Mall or the water and slide park Waterbom Bali Indonesia are also within walking distance. We have not tested either.
The kitchen in this hotel is outstanding.
Sukun Restaurant, where all meals are served, is known as the best Indonesian restaurant in Kuta. Read the reviews on Tripadvisor. That speaks for itself.
The breakfast menu is unsurpassed in creativity and taste. Various egg dishes, pancakes with fresh fruits and other sweet delicacies. Above all, the way the chef prepares the dishes is fantastic. So you start the day perfectly. Simply choose your breakfast a la carte and enjoy it in the restaurant's half-open terrace next to the pool. It tasted particularly good and tasted the really noble Egg Benedict. In our opinion, the delicious coffee that we absolutely need in the morning should be emphasized. We were not disappointed here.
For dinner you can either choose one of the authentic dishes from the menu or you can treat yourself to the Megibung. An authentic traditional Balinese multi-course menu awaits you, served in baskets lined with banana leaves. Meat, fish and lots of vegetables in all conceivable forms with rice and sauces and dips that trigger a flavor firework in the mouth. Megibung is a centuries-old culinary tradition from the east of the island. We indulged in the Megibung of the Amnaya Kuta Resort and couldn't have asked for anything better and tastier. This menu also blew our culinary senses out of Bali on our first evening.
The extremely friendly staff explained the preparation and origin of the ingredients to each course and each dish. Really a great experience that we have never experienced in this form in any other hotel or restaurant.
You can also try to get a table for the Romantic Dinner, because only a couple get the opportunity to enjoy a six-course candlelit dinner by the pool.
In the Sukun Restaurant of the Amnaya Kuta Resort you can expect classic Balinese food with a modern touch and all in great quality and taste.
The design of the Amnaya Kuta Resort is really very nice. Set up like a Moroccan riad with a pool in the courtyard and many North African design elements, especially in the SPA area, the onset of relaxation is not long in coming.
The rooms at the Amnaya Kuta Resort are equipped with fantastic free-standing king-size beds and a great en-suite bathroom including a free-standing bathtub.
You can choose between six different room categories. Deluxe Room, Amnaya Room and Amnaya Room with pool access are approximately 45 square meters in size and offer sufficient comfort with their own balcony or terrace with comfortable loungers and coffee table.
The Junior Suite with a size of around 60 square meters is a size bigger.
The Family Suite and the Amnaya Suite, each measuring over 100 square meters, are the most spacious in terms of space and equipment.
All room categories at the Amnaya Resort Kuta have air conditioning, coffee machine, flat screen TV and safe. In addition, the brightness created by the large window fronts conveys a pleasantly friendly atmosphere in the rooms.
The hotel plays in the top league in terms of design, cuisine and service. We were really thrilled and really enjoyed our stay. So if you are looking for a great hotel in Kuta or a short stopover in Bali, we highly recommend the Amnaya Kuta Resort. You are definitely not going wrong here.
